UWF must contain EKU’s 602-yard back

Eastern Kentucky running back Brady Hensley breaks free for a 72-yard touchdown against Jacksonville State.

UWF’s defense is coming off a record-setting performance. Now the Argos face Eastern Kentucky running back Brady Hensley, who has piled up 602 rushing yards and five touchdowns this season.

Hensley is averaging 6.3 yards per carry, and his longest run went for 96 yards. That big-play ability makes him a serious challenge for a UWF defense that has allowed 147.5 rushing yards per game this season.

The Argos looked much sharper against West Alabama, holding the Tigers to minus-16 rushing yards and just 29 total yards. UWF set a program record for fewest yards allowed in a game, but it will need to carry that same discipline into this matchup.

EKU can also turn to other runners. The Colonels rushed for 267 yards against Tennessee Tech, with Ryder Hooks gaining 166. Hensley added 50 yards on 11 carries in the 49–20 loss.

UWF’s defensive priority is clear: close running lanes, tackle cleanly and keep Hensley from breaking into the open field. The Argos have shown they can shut down a rushing attack. Now they have to prove they can do it against one of EKU’s most dangerous playmakers.
