Eastern Kentucky allowed 49 — UWF’s ground game is next

UWF quarterback Ty’Ray Davis races downfield during a game.

Eastern Kentucky’s defense faces a major challenge Saturday. The Colonels allowed 49 points and 453 yards in last week’s loss to Tennessee Tech. Now they must prepare for No. 20 West Florida, which rushed for 329 yards in a 37–3 win over West Alabama.

UWF quarterback Ty’Ray Davis led the Argos with 126 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also threw for 99 yards and a score, helping UWF control the game with a balanced performance.

Eastern Kentucky had a bright spot of its own: freshman running back Ryder Hooks rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown against Tennessee Tech. But the Colonels will need a stronger defensive effort to contain Davis and the Argos’ rushing attack.

UWF visits Roy Kidd Stadium in Richmond on Saturday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. Eastern.
