Prince is looking forward to experiencing UWF’s first FCS conference home game, building relationships with the coaching staff and helping recruit future Argos.
PENSACOLA, Fla. — UWF commit Joc Prince isn’t waiting until he arrives in Pensacola to start helping the Argos. He’s already talking to other prospects about joining him, and this weekend he’ll get another look at the program when UWF hosts its first conference home game at the FCS level.
For Prince, the visit is another opportunity to experience the atmosphere, spend time with the coaching staff and see what his future could look like in an Argos uniform.
“Being on campus for the first home game as an FCS program is truly amazing,” Prince said. “I can’t wait. I’m very excited to see the guys play.”
UWF’s early success has brought plenty of excitement to the program, but Prince said the results weren’t a major factor in his decision. The Argos were already a school he wanted to attend.
“The early success wasn’t a huge factor in me committing,” Prince said. “UWF has always been on my list of schools that I wanted to attend, and once I got the offer, I was ready to commit.”
Now, Prince wants to continue building relationships with the coaches while getting a closer look at how the team operates on game day.
“I’m looking forward to growing my relationships with the coaches more and building on them,” he said.
“I’m hoping to learn everything that I can and just watch how they play the game and the amount of energy they have.”
Prince can already see himself being part of that atmosphere.
“I can definitely picture myself taking the field with them,” he said.
He’s also doing a little recruiting of his own.
Prince has already started conversations with teammates and other players he believes could help UWF continue building its program.
“There are some players that I’ve talked about trying to get to come to UWF, some teammates and some players that I felt like would be a great help,” Prince said.
Prince will be watching from the stands this weekend, but he’s already thinking about the day he’ll be wearing a UWF uniform. And if he has his way, a few familiar faces could be joining him in Pensacola.
