PENSACOLA, Fla. — Hurricane Isaias has forced changes across the University of West Florida athletic department, disrupting the Argonauts’ weekend schedule as university officials focus on the safety of students, coaches and staff.

Saturday’s football game against Northeastern State has been canceled, while several other UWF programs are dealing with postponed competitions and travel adjustments.

The storm has also affected campus operations, with university officials making changes to classes, activities and access to facilities.

For UWF football, the cancellation means an unexpected weekend off as the Argonauts continue their first season competing at the FCS level.

Other athletic programs will have to adjust their schedules as well, with postponed events awaiting potential makeup dates.

The biggest concern right now isn’t football or the athletic calendar. It’s making sure everyone stays safe as the storm approaches the Pensacola area.

UWF officials will continue evaluating conditions before determining when normal campus operations and athletic activities can resume.

GoArgos365.com will continue following developments involving UWF athletics and any additional schedule changes.
